Release 11.0 Notes 31 January 2018#
Summary#
In this release, we’ve added the following features:
You can now set up alerts that send notifications through SMS.
You can now see a thumbnail preview of a widget before adding it to a dashboard.
New Features#
Sending SMS Alerts#
Rebus can now send Short Message Service (SMS) alert notifications.
The Alert Properties form has been changed to let you set up an SMS subscribers list in addition to an email subscribers list for an alert condition.
If the alert condition is triggered, an alert notification email will be sent to each user in the email subscribers list and an alert notification SMS will be sent to the mobile phone number of each user in the SMS subscribers list. The text of an alert notification SMS matches that of the alert notification email.
Previewing Widgets#
It’s now easier for you to preview widgets before adding them to a dashboard. The Available Widgets panel now shows thumbnails (i.e., miniature screenshots) of the actual widgets. The thumbnail is the last saved image of the widget. Rebus saves an image for the thumbnail whenever you add a widget or edit a widget and save your changes.
Previously, the panel showed default images for widget types.
New Improvements#
Admin Screens#
The buttons on the Security profile and preferences screens now match those of other administrative screens. Previously, they had their own style of buttons.
On the Profile Admin screen, the arrow buttons that were previously used to add or remove a group of widgets have been supplemented with descriptive labels: ‘Add All’ and ‘Remove All’.
In the Organization Admin screen, you can now create multiple system records that share the same vendor, type, version, and time zone. A ‘Name’ field has been added to system records to let you distinguish between system records. Each system record must have a unique Name value. Another development will automatically update all existing system records with a Name value.
Previously, system records couldn’t share the same vendor value.
Widgets#
You can now easily see whether a widget is part of a drill down path. A drill down indicator will appear at the right of a widget’s title if it’s part of a drill down path.
↓ top level of drill down path.
⇵ in the middle of a drill down path.
↑ bottom level of drill down path.
Widget drill down paths now adapt themselves to the widget permissions specified in your user profile. If you open a widget that’s part of a drill down path, you’ll be able to drill down to the next widget down the path only if you have access to that widget. Otherwise, it will be as if you’re at the bottom end of the drill down path.
Previously, if you tried to access a widget for which you didn’t have permissions through a drill down path, you’d get an error.
Labor#
A new validation ensures that shifts must be 24 hours or less. When you are creating or updating a shift, the duration between the start time and the stop time must be 24 hours or less. Otherwise, you’ll get a validation error.
A step is now automatically created when you create a sign-on or sign-off activity. The step has the same name as the activity: ‘Sign-On’ for sign-on activities and ‘Sign-Off’ for sign-off activities.
Rebus needs Sign-On and Sign-Off activities to have one step so that their duration can be recorded.
Report Viewer#
In the Report Viewer, the reports are now filtered so that you can see only those whose queries are set up for your profile. Previously, you could see all reports, even those whose queries your profile didn’t have permissions to. If such a report had been run, you would have gotten an error.
Other#
The list of permissions that you are requested to grant to Rebus so that it can integrate with your company’s Office 365 has been reduced to 15:
Read and write user and shared calendars
Create, read, update, and delete user tasks
Read and write users’ relevant people lists (preview)
Read user contacts
Send mail as a user
Read and write user mail
Send/Receive Instant Messages (preview)

Send/Receive Audio and Video (preview)
Read/write Skype user contacts and groups

If Rebus is already integrated with your company’s Office 365, IT admins will be able to re-do the consent to reduce the number of permissions granted to Rebus.
Customer Support#
The first phase of the Rebus Support Center has been published within the Rebus application. It has step-by-step instructions, reference material, and release notes that will help you get the most out of Rebus. The Support Center content will be expanded in future phases.
You can access the site through the ‘?’ button in the upper right.
A new customer support form in Rebus lets you log Rebus support issues. Access the form either from the login screen or through the dropdown under your user ID in the top right. Click the Contact Support option and fill out the form with the following details:
Your email,
Subject line that summarizes the problem,
What screen you’re at,
Description of the problem, and
Whether you’re able to access your account.
After you submit the request, an email is sent to you confirming that we’ve received your request and will be contacting you shortly.
Bug Fixes#
Flow Designer#
Enabling unsaved new trigger freezes application and progress bar keeps loading.
Trying to update a flow not having a trigger throws a console error and flow is not updated.
Labor#
Translate directive is not being applied to all labor screen controls.
On the Labor User Admin screen, the search field is displayed before vendor is selected from the system drop down and error message is shown for a few seconds before existing users are displayed.
On the Labor user group Admin, updated group information is not displayed after changing user group instead the first group’s information is displayed.
